Counter Sales
Description

The Counter Salesperson will increase sales and customer satisfaction by efficiently assisting walk-in and telephone customers in the selection and purchasing of plumbing materials.

Customer Service Responsibilities
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and greet customers who walk in the store. Handle multiple customers and customer requests simultaneously while maintaining a friendly and professional manner.
  • Assist customers in making product selections by asking questions and actively listening to identify customer needs. 
  • Assist in product troubleshooting and answering technical questions. Identify alternate or substitute products to meet customer needs.
  • Research and source product for customers using a variety of tools.
  • Enter sales orders into our ordering system for invoices or cash payments. Process customer returns following company guidelines.
  • Follow up promptly on all customer requests for information, quotes, alternative parts, and delivery requests. Proactively communicate with customers about any expected delays or issues with their order.
  • Develop good working relationships and rapport with customers. Greet regular customers by name.
  • Maintain the highest standards in cleanliness and appearance of the store and warehouse through stocking shelves, housekeeping, creating displays, etc.
  • Resolve customer complaints and disputes in a timely, professional manner that balances customer requests with business needs.
  • Follow company pricing and credit guidelines.
Sales Responsibilities
  • Prepare and issue sales quotes following company guidelines. Follow up on quotes to secure sales.
  • Educate customers/prospects re: the variety of products available for sale and the benefits of shopping at Bimco Supply.
  • Increase customer satisfaction and store profitability by proactively recommending additional items a customer might need and promotions that might interest them.
  • Uncover and communicate sales lead information to outside sales staff and management.
  • Promote surplus, sale, discounted, and obsolete inventory to customers in order to maintain proper inventory levels and communicate unexpected increases or decreases in product demand and inventory to purchasing or management.
General Responsibilities
  • Maintain knowledge of new and existing products and inventory by participating in training, seeking knowledge from experienced staff members and factory reps.
  • Assist in receiving, shipping, and general warehouse duties as needed.
  • Complete all transactions and necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent education.
  • Prior sales experience and/or plumbing knowledge is preferred.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Positive demeanor, dependability, and strong work ethic.
  • Self-starter with ability to learn our systems quickly.

Description

Warehouse staff will increase operational efficiency, company profitability, and customer satisfaction by accurately and safely receiving and storing plumbing materials, processing incoming and outgoing shipments, or delivering complete and on-time orders and requests to the company’s customers.

Shipping and Receiving Responsibilities
  • Pull and prepare outbound customer orders; Receive, sort, and replenish incoming inventory.
  • Build, wrap, sort, and transport pallets and packages.
  • Accurately and timely receive, verify, stage, and stock all incoming material.
  • Clean the workspace as you go and participate with the team in keeping our facility clean, safe, and accident-free.
Driver Responsibilities
  • Deliver materials to the customer, which includes assistance with unloading, ensuring delivery of ticket with material.
  • Take pictures of delivered products for documentation.
  • Pick up customer returns, validating product match for credit requests.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fuel the truck as needed, and report any truck/vehicle problems or issues to supervisor.
  • Follow all DOT (Department of Transportation) standards and regulations.
  • Follow and implement all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist warehouse personnel with pulling and preparing orders for shipment as needed, as well as receiving, verifying, staging, and stocking incoming material.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent education.
  • Must have a valid NC driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle review.
  • No commercial driver’s license required.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Prior warehouse experience in shipping, receiving, delivery, or inventory management is preferred.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Positive demeanor, dependability, and strong work ethic.
  • Self-starter with the ability to learn our systems quickly.
  • Ability to lift items that weigh up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
